Jonkopings Sodra finished a comfortable 12th in their return to the top flight last season. It was their first season back in the top flight for 46 years, and head coach Jimmy Thelin did an excellent job in steering the team away from any relegation trouble. This year might prove to be a trickier test for the team, and they certainly won't be fancied improving much on a mid-table position. Ahead of their second season there has been strengthening in key areas, with Stefan Karlsson leaving the Ostersunds revolution under Graham Potter for Jonkopings Sodra to play an important part in their back four, and Arni Vilhjalmsson showed Norwegian football what he was all about at Lillestrom as the Icelandic attacker tries to have the same impact in Swedish football this season. Jonkopings Sodra should have enough about them to avoid any relegation worries but they will hope to hit the ground running as quickly as possible. The euphoria of reaching the promised land of the Allsvenskan last season is all well and good, but now the pressure is building on that and becoming a mainstay in the Swedish top flight for years to come.

Target

Jonkopings Sodra should have enough quality to leave at least three teams behind them after the 30 games of the Allsvenskan season
