Had a mixed campaign last season, finishing well above bottom spot but only two points above the relegation play off at time of season’s premature end. Strong attack was let down by weak defence. Struggled for confidence and went two months without a win across October and November, as well as no wins in January. But the Staggies were able to take surprise wins over bigger teams like Aberdeen, Livingston and Motherwell. Transfer dealings over the summer have been positive with deadwood cut out and new signings arriving from Football League clubs and abroad. Connor Randall could be a quality addition while Iacovitti and Kelly are both good signings. Billy McKay and Ross Stewart were crucial to the team last season, scoring just under a half of the total league goals between them. Marcus Fraser offered a strong presence at the back and gives much needed experience. Struggled up front with the second worst offensive record in the league and worst defensive record. Ross will still be one of the favourites for relegation but have strengthened well. Further loan signings could bulk them out further but they will need to be better organised defensively this time out to make progress.

Target

10th place. Ross need to put distance between themselves and the relegation zone but lack the quality to progress much further.
