Watford are back in the top flight again for the first time since 2007. The Hornet's finished the season second in the Championship table and were just a single point behind champions Bournemouth. Indeed, winning the title looked on the cards right up until the final game of the season when they could manage just a draw against Sheffield Wednesday. Watford went through four managers last season, and Slavisa Jokanovic has now also departed to be replaced by Quique Sanchez Flores. Flores has been busy in the transfer market, adding a total of ten players to the squad. Much is expected of playmaker Jurado, while Capoue offers Premier League experience and solidity in midfield. Strikers Matej Vydra, Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo scored a massive fifty seven goals between them last season and will be hoping to make the step up without too much difficulty. Flores is likely to be under a lot of pressure right from the off, so a decent start to the season could be important in terms of buying him some time.

Target

The club have lofty long term ambitions, but for now maintaining their top flight status is the aim for this season. Flores seems to have no shortage of options within his squad.
