It has a summer of change at Yeovil Town as manager Darren Way looks to build a squad capable of challenging at the top end of the League Two table. Huish Park hasn’t been a happy place for the last few seasons with Way struggling to get to grips with the meagre resources at his disposal. There were some encouraging signs last season however with the Glovers just one trip away from Wembley in the Football League Trophy and enjoying a plum an F.A. Cup fourth round tie at home to Manchester United. The latter has certainly helped Way in the transfer market and he has allowed several regulars to leave the club during the close season. The most notable departure is that of influential winger Otis Khan, who has joined Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee whilst goalkeeper Artur Krysiak and defenders Nathan Smith and Ryan Dickson have been released. Way has had to rely on a series of loans since taking on the job and he has brought in goalkeeper Nathan Baxter and winger Diallang Jaiyesimi on season-long loans from Chelsea and Norwich City respectively. Defenders Carl Dickinson and Gary Warren arrive with plenty of experience whilst he has taken something of a punt of midfielder Sessi D’Almedia from Blackpool. He will be delighted to have re-signed goalkeeper Stuart Nelson and defender Omar Sowunmi on new two-year contracts whilst leading goalscorer Francois Zoko has another year on his current deal. The Glovers face a challenge to keep hold of defenders Shaun Donnellan and Tom James, with the latter having attracted interest from the likes of Celtic. Way is hoping to re-sign midfielder Lewis Wing on loan from Middlesbrough and still has some work to do in the transfer market to strengthen his squad before the start of the new campaign.

Target

The Glovers will be hoping to push for a top-half finish in League Two this season.
