New boys Huesca are brought down to Earth with a thump after Champions Barcelona hit them for eight at the Nou Camp. The visitors took an early lead, but it soon went south for Aragonese side. Goals from Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and an own goal from Jorge Pulido, put Barca in control, but Alex Gallar got Huesca back in the game shortly before the break. However, five unanswered goals from the hosts completed the rout with Messi and Suarez again finding the net.
Huesca first league trip to the Nou Camp started excellently as they took an early lead. Jorge Miramon’s cross was met by Samuele Longo and Cucho flicked the ball past Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
Barcelona started to play their slick passing football and it was not long till Messi equalised. The Argentinian wizard was given too much space in the box and flashed his shot into the far corner. The champions were soon ahead as Pulido deflected Jordi Alba’s cross into his own net.
The Catalan side were totally dominate and made it three before the break. Alba got in behind down the left flank and his cross was swept home by Suarez. However, Huesca got themselves back into the game four minutes later. Moi Gomez’s hooked cross back across goal was tapped home by Gallar.
However, only three minutes into the second half Barcelona extended their lead. Ousmane Dembele got in behind following Suarez’s through ball and he powered his low strike into far corner. Four minutes Ivan Rakitic added another goal with an excellent strike on the half volley finding the far corner.
Huesca were struggling to contain the hosts as Messi added another goal to his ever growing tally. From Philippe Coutinho through ball the Goat raced away from the defence and clinically found the bottom corner.
The visitors stopped the rot for twenty minutes, but Barcelona just kept looking for more goals. Alba got into the box unmarked and planted the ball through the legs of Axel Werner. There was more misery for Huesca in injury time. Werner sent Suarez flying in the box and the Uruguayan stepped up from the spot and sent the on loan Atlético Madrid keeper the wrong way.
A complete performance from Barcelona who were totally dominate all over the pitch. They never let Huesca off the hook as they kept on pushing for another goal and they go top of the league on goal difference. Huesca are more used to playing Barcelona’s second team so to score twice against the first team is a great achievement. They could not handle Barcelona’s crisp passing and pace with their defence split open on numerous occasions.
