Football Season Review

№14: Nashville SC

Nashville SC were great in their first season in MLS and they exceeded all the expectations especially in a very strange season in which they were hit from the pandemic and they remained out of MLS is Back tournament due to multiple infections. When they found their pace and started playing regularly, they showed that they were a very solid team, giving emphasis to an organised defensive structure but they were able to score as well. It is not a surprise that their best player this season was their central defender Walker Zimmermann who was a constant threat especially in set pieces. Of course the lack of experience didn't let them to go more than the Eastern Conference Semi finals in which they fought hard for 90 mins against the future champions Columbus, but they ran out of gas and were defeated in extra time. In any case the season was very succesful for Nashville and, if they become more clinical in their attacking plays and exploiting their chances by improving their goal conversion numbers, then there will be a very tough team to beat next season.

Player of the Season: Walker Zimmerman
