Crystal Palace return to the top flight courtesy of a dramatic playoff final win over Watford. Palace started last season strongly and always looked capable of challenging for the title. However, the longer the season went on, the more inconsistent they became. In the end they finished way down in fifth spot, a massive fifteen points off the top spot. Boss Ian Holloway loves his side's to play attractive football and there can be little doubt that Palace will be pleasing on the eye and keen to attack whenever possible. The flip side of that is that their defending at times leaves a lot to be desired. They conceded a massive sixty two goals last season, and so far at least have not strengthened their back four at all. Glen Murray scored a remarkable thirty goals last season before picking up an injury in the playoffs. It would seem likely that he will miss at least the first couple of months of the new season. Holloway has paid a large transfer fee to Peterborough for striker Dwight Gayle and will be hoping the youngster can continue to develop and improve. He netted thirteen times last season for a struggling relegated side. After missing out on Tom Ince from Blackpool, Holloway moved quickly to secure the services of Jose Campana from Seville. Campana has a decent pedigree having captained the Spanish U20 World Cup side recently
