Having been promoted from the Championship via the Play Offs, last season was always going to be very tough for Crystal Palace. They made an awful start to the season and it is fair to say they looked already relegated after less than three months. The club decided to act, opted to part ways with Ian Holloway, and a month later appointed Tony Pulis to the hot seat. The turn around was not instant, but Pulis achieved the impossible and saw the Eagles to safety. Palace finished the season a comfortable eleventh in the table, a massive twelve points clear of the drop zone. After taking some time at the end of the end to assess the situation, Pulis decided to remain at the helm. So far the major addition to the squad has been striker Frazier Campbell from Cardiff City. A large number of squad players that featured little last season have departed and Pulis is throught to have money in the kitty for another three or four signings. He has also been able to keep a hold of practically all of last seasons starting eleven and substitutes. There is no doubt that the squad needs some numbers added to it quickly.

Target

The main objective for 2014/15 will again be to avoid relegation. They will be hoping for another mid table finish. For that to happen though, the funds promised to Pulis need to materialize and they need to quickly get active in the transfer market.
