Sarpsborg had a rather poor last year in which they never really gained traction and were far too close to the bottom places for comfort for the majority of the campaign. Yet, coach Mickhael Stæhre has retained the support of the club and will be expected to improve and make the team a more consistent presence in the top half of the table. Sarpsborg have been quite active in the market and have changed more than half of their squad over the close season. There is most change in attack where Rashad Muhammad returns to the club after a spell in Turkey and could well prove a hit if he reaches his level from before. Also coming is veteran forward Kristian Opseth, who was pretty prolific back in the day for Bodø/Glimt. In midfield, Anton Saletros and Emil Palsson should form a good duo while Andreas Kristensen looks a solid addition as a goalkeeper. Overall, there is a good baseline level in this Sarpsborg squad and, if they do not encounter some early crisis, they have a pretty good chance being in the top half of the table again.

Target

Aiming to get into the top half of the table and target the top six.
