Strømsgodset had quite a close encounter with the relegation places last season and needed a few wins late on to eventually secure safety. It was a season to forget on many levels and more off-pitch drama followed on early on in 2021 as coach Henrik Pedersen had to leave the club amidst allegations of his racist behaviour towards some players and employees of the club. It was a really bad moment for the Drammen club and one that they will be keen to move on quickly. They returned to a familiar figure as their new manager as Bjorn Petter Ingebrigtsen returns for a third spell as a Godset coach. The experienced tactician knows this club inside out and will realise that they need to quickly settle into a system and try to get a good start of the season in order to bring positivity. Transfer dealings have been very sparse so far in the close season as their main addition is that of forward Fred Friday. He has barely played a competitive game in the past two years but still has good pedigree in Norway from his time with Lillestrøm and the club will hope that he rekindles the old magic. Otherwise, keeping the core of the young and promising squad has been a plus, with the likes of Johan Hove and Nico Mickelson sticking around for the time being. Yet, the outlook for Godset does not look that appealing and they seem primed for a struggle at the bottom end of the table by the look of things at the moment.

Target

Staying clear of relegation trouble and nailing down a mid-table spot.
