It was a funny season for Stromsgodset last year, as they finished 11th in the end after looking dead and buried for most of the 30 games. Henrik Pedersen did just about enough to rally his team and they escaped the drop by two points and having a better goal difference by two goals. The margins were tight but it felt like a huge triumph after what the Drammen club had been through for most of the 2019 campaign. The club's finances sadly dictate the lack of any real transfer activity in the off-season, and Pedersen is going to have to go again with more or less the same team that finished last season's gruelling campaign. The coach has of course had plenty of time to work with his players outside of the pressure cooker of a matchday, so if his coaching methods have been taken on board there might well be an upturn in fortunes. This will not be very sharp though. Stromsgodset will do well to finish in mid-table this season, and the targets around the place won't be any less modest than that. The club is very grounded because of their financial situation and a realistic frame of mind could benefit them hugely in 2020.

Target

Pedersen will want to avoid the nailbiting and nervous of last season. If he does that then the job has been a good one. Slight progress could be expected. Prediction: 10th
