Forest Green begin the season aiming high as owner Dale Vince is looking for a tangible return of his investment. The Gloucester team never really managed to get away from mid-table mediocrity last season and a play-off was not in sight but they still played some good football and now the feeling at Meadow Lane is that promotion is very much a feasible target. Some impresser players have joined the club, among them Magno Viera from champions Fleetwood, and one thing that can be predicted for certain that this team will be among the goal give that Ben Wright joined up too and James Norwood and Reece Styche are still around too. Overall, Dave Hockaday has good depth in the squad and some fine players at this level like James Collins, Sam Russell and Eddie Oshodi. Phil Marsh is expected to make the step up too having excelled for Stalybridge Celtic in Blue Square North last season. Overall, Forest Green have the resources to compete with the best but the lack of winning mentality after years of relegation battles may count against them. Still, they are expected to play a major role but not like the one of Crawley and Fleetwood in the past two seasons in steamrolling the league thanks to a wealthy owner.

Target

All is in place for a genuine attack of the play-offs but they are more likely than not to miss out.
