Even more than Carpi themselves, who dominated the Serie B in the past campaign, last May Frosinone shocked the Italian football by reaching the promotion to the Serie A despite having just returned to the second tier after a spell in the Lega Pro. Roberto Stellone was the architect of such an unpredictable success and he was logically confirmed in charge of the team, at their first experience in the top flight. His task will certainly not be an easy one, considering that the management had to strengthen the squad with basically no budget whatsoever. They are by far the poorest club of the league and they had to build the squad relying on the support of some other clubs, through loan deals, or hiring some free agents. In what seems to be a rather rigid 4-4-2 formation, Leali, who often underperformed during his stint at Cesena, is expected to start in goals with Zappino ready to step in. The newcomers Rosi and Pavlovic should act on the flanks, with Crivello and Zanon, provided he is not sold in the meantime, to provide for cover. Diakite and Blanchard, who is often card-prone, should be playing in the heart of the defence with Matteo Ciofani as the alternative. Gucher, Chibsah, Frara, Gori and Sammarco, the only one with a serious Serie A experience, will be rotating in the middle of the park with the likes of wunderkind Verde, who managed to earn himself a few starting place in the past Roma campaign, Soddimo and, possibly, Paganini riding on the flanks. Dionisi and Daniel Ciofani might be leading the attack with Longo and Lupoli, two potentially gifted players who have not managed to keep the promises yet, as their alternatives. It is quite evident how Frosinone lack experience and depth in all the departments. While they have not lost any of the protagonists of the glorious cavalcade to the Serie A, they have not signed any exciting players, apart from Verde, this far.

Target

Frosinone are going to have a very hard life in Serie A and they might end up returning straight to where they come from at the end of the campaign.
