Out

Making their debut in Major League Soccer this season, Los Angeles FC will be hoping to make an immediate impact in their first year of competitive football. Expansion teams have often experienced mixed results in their first competitive seasons, with those such as Atlanta United and New York City managing to adapt fairly well, while others such as Minnesota have largely faltered. LAFC however, appear to be very well prepared, and could go on to surprise a few teams come the end of the season. Former USA and Swansea City boss Bob Bradley takes charge of the team for this campaign, and will be hoping to use his experience to his advantage. On the whole, LA appear to have recruited a solid set of players, many of whom have plenty of MLS experience. Brazilian midfielder, Benny Feilhaber, brings plenty of talent to the midfield, with Calum Mallace and Aaron Kovar also bringing in some added grit. On the defensive side of things, Steven Beitashour, Walker Zimmerman, and Laurent Ciman all look like fantastic additions to the squad, with number one draft pick Joao Moutinho also an exciting prospect. Nineteen year old Uruguayan forward, Diego Rossi, becomes one of the team’s first ever designated players, with former Arsenal man, Carlos Vela, joining him in that regard. Overall, it appears as though LA have assembled a squad good enough to make a real difference this season.

Target

LA should be aiming to establish themselves in the league first and foremost. However, considering their quality, they could make a push for the playoffs.
