Moreirense had a solid confirmation of what they had done in previous season, repeating a top half place and keeping the high levels of performances all over the season. Big motivation for this new season is to keep the standards and make Moreirense a serious side in Portuguese football, away from the on-going relegation contention. Their move on the market was quite sensible, and the team seems to have gathered a strong group of players, mainly based on the squad they had from last season. There were only a few important departures, like Luther Singh and Gabrielzinho, who where known to be leaving as on loan from other clubs. Staff took care of properly replacing them by bringing two exciting Brazilians for the wings: Felipe Pires and Yan. With a couple of excellent seasons in Austrian league on his resume, Felipe Pires is the hottest name for the new season. Keeping key players like keeper Pasinato, centre-half Rosic, midfielder Filipe Soares and striker Fábio Abreu was not only important to mantain the quality of the squad but also a significant statement about the team's current power and ambition.

Target

Quickly get away from the bottom places and confirm the status of a top-half team. Perhaps get involved in the European qualification.
