Brentford enter their third season back in League 1 with a manager untested in the U.K. after Uwe Rosler’s surprise appointment over the summer. The German has managed three sides in Scandinavia with mixed success and the Bees’ fans have been unsurprisingly underwhelmed by the appointment. Experienced player Nicky Forster was not offered the job on a permanent basis after he took over from Andy Scott and Bees fans will not know what to expect from the upcoming campaign. Many felt it was a bad decision to sack Scott mid-way through last season, but that is history and Rostler has been busy putting his mark on the squad with several signings. The London side have managed two upper mid-table seasons so far since their promotion from League Two and the same again will be their aim. Once again it is going to be a hugely competitive division and it’s very hard to envisage the Bees mounting a promotion push. Whether they can pull any surprises will all be down to how Rostler can cope with his first season in English football management, although they will not be expected to struggle.

Target

Brentford will be looking for a more settled season that last time, although the ultimate aim will be exactly the same as what was achieved then, i.e. a top half finish.
