Football Season Guide

There is an atmosphere of gloom surrounding Bohemians going into the new season due to the FA's decision to restructure the Premier League and reduce it to ten teams in the 2018 season. This means that, this season, three sides will go down instead of the usual two, while only one First Division side will win promotion. The Bohs have been a stable midtable club over the recent years, but their previous season was not exactly seen as a success, mostly due to the expectations they have set for themselves with the impressive 2016 campaign that they have had, as many expected them to push for an European place, but they ended up threading water and doing enough to stay up, but not more than that. What particularly frustrated the fans last year was their scoring record, as they scored less than a goal per game, and some sections called for Keith Long to be sacked at the end of the previous season, although he remains in charge going into the new campaign. The winter break that they Bohs have had was anything but quiet, as their squad has changed as much as any in the division and another big question mark is how quick they can gel. To sum everything up, they will be up against increased demands this season due to the new league format and need to show signs of improving in the final third of the pitch and, of course, stay up, if Long is to last the season at the helm.
