Lugano were never relegated since winning promotion to the top flight in 2015 and have established themselves as a solid midtable club, with even a couple of European campaigns. They struggled initially in the previous season, with this costing Fabio Celestini his job, but have improved a great deal under Paolo Tramezzani, who built their survival and eventual midtable finish around their strong home form. This is somewhat different to what Lugano are normally known for, which is counter-attacking, but they have adjusted to their manager's ideas well and are extremely tough to break down. With Tramezzani not starting the previous season in charge, it is hardly a surprising that he now conducted a squad clearout. Absolutely no regulars have left, with the list of those who left being a mix of players who were always bit-part men and those who lost their regular status under Tramezzani. The Ticiners are another club that opted against spending in the window. Adria Guerrero signs on loan from Valencia B and will be hoping to see significant playing time and this is as far their list of signings goes, with the other arrivals being players returning from loan. The reduced squad depth is obviously a concern, but the Ticiners' core has not changed much and they will be hoping to have another decent campaign.

Target

They would be pleased with another midtable finish.
