Hannover finished in sixth placed last season and, although they would have hoped for better, it was seen as a success after a miserable start. Coach Kenan Kocak eventually got the team going again and vastly improved their rotten home form. There have been plenty of incomings and outgoings during the close season as Kocak looks to put a rubber stamp on his side. Waldemar Anton has made the step up to the Bundesliga after his standout performances last season and will be a loss to the side, but defender Baris Basdas and midfielder Mike Frantz have both joined the club and should provide good experience and maturity. Ghananian Patrick Twumasi has been brought from Alaves and the winger should provide plenty of ammunition going forward. The loans of John Guidetti and Cedric Teuchert both came to an end so Valmir Sulejmani, signed from Waldorf Mannheim, will help support other strikers Marvin Ducksch and Hendrick Weydandt. Full-backs Niklas Hult and Sei Muroya are also decent acquisitions for Kocak’s men. Hannover’s strengths this season will be their mix of experience and youth combined, you felt at the end of last season that Kocak was starting to find the right formula. At home they improved massively and he’ll want to continue that but their consistency as a whole could be a weakness.

Target

Promotion- Hannover have every chance of promotion but, as they found out last season, they need to be at it for every game. There is not much room for error and consistency is key.
