Despite finishing 16 points clear at the top of their conference, wining the MLS Cup and eclipsing the record for goals scored in a season, LA fell at the last hurdle; the play off final game against Seattle. This time out, LA will aim to go one better. They have strengthened with the acquisition of Bradley Wright-Phillips and Kenneth Vermeer who help push them on to the next level. Attack is an area of huge strength for LA with Vela one of the league's main stars, supported by Diomande, Rodriguez and Rossi adding further quality options. LA's biggest weaknesses appear in defence. Beitashour and Zimmerman have departed leaving the defensive line. Neither player has been replaced. Jakovic will likely play a more central role after serving as backup for large swathes of the previous season. Manager Bob Bradley will also look to develop younger or less experienced players into the first team line up. Adrian Perez will likely see more game time after a number of bench appearances last season

Target

LA already had one of the best MLS teams in history and they've only improved it in the off season. They'll be looking to win their conference once again while performing better in cup competitions, something their added depth will help them achieve. They may choose to give added focus to cup competitions, aiming for serious progression in US Open Cup.
