It is difficult to know exactly what to expect from Norwich City this time around. They finished mid-table after a season of rebuilding under new boss Daniel Farke last term and were not overly impressive. Farke has continued his policy of signing largely European players. Defender Felix Passlack has arrived from Borussia Dortmund along with Brondby forward Teemu Pukki and Emiliano Buendia, the Getafe midfielder. That policy did not entirely work with a lot of players struggling to adjust to life in England's second tier. That said Norwich have made two impressive signings who are well used to English football. Ben Marshall offers a threat from out wide while Jordan Rhodes has been signed on loan from Sheffield Wednesday, a club where he failed to shine at. With Marshall and Rhodes playing together that partnership should offer goals on its own. James Maddison has now left the Canaries after they received an offer they could not refuse from Leicester. Nelson Oliveira remains at the club so far with Farke not always seeing eye to eye with the striker last season. Angus Gunn has returned to parent club Manchester City but Norwich have snapped up Brighton goalkeeper Tim Krul as replacement, also having Remi Matthews as a back-up.

Target

Optimistic Norwich fans will hope for a play-off place but they may well have to contend with a season better than the one just gone.
