Out

Blackburn can be regarded as a model club in the way they have gone about their business in the last 15 months. Relegated the season before last, they are now back in the Championship after some solid work by Tony Mowbray who has not panicked. They are now in a much better shape now than when they were relegated from the Championship. Rovers have not overspent or overbought this summer. They have added talented midfielders in the shape of Jacob Davenport from Manchester City and Joe Rothwell, the promising Oxford man. Both should fit in well in the Championship with the former having experience of this division last season with Burton Albion. Blackburn have not sold any of their squad over the summer which is another reason they should be relatively optimistic about their chances of some success in the higher division. Defender Charlie Mulgrew netted 14 times last season from defence and he promises to be a big part in what Blackburn do. There certainly seems to be team spirit at this club and that is thanks in part to the effective managerial style of Mowbray. There is certainly a feeling of quiet optimistic at Ewood Park this summer.

Target

Blackburn will be confident they can surprise a few people. Certainly they should not be involved in a relegation battle and will fancy their chances of making the top half if they can continue their progress.
