Got promoted to Série A by finishing 2nd last season, in Série B, tied with first placed Chapecoense with the same 73 points. Last time in top flight was back in 2018, where 'Coelho' finished 18th 3 points away from safety. Finished 2nd in Mineiro State Championship as they lost to Atlético in the final. A double 0-0 draw (1st and 2nd legs) was favourable to the opponents since they ended 1st in the First Stage of the competition. Messias and Sávio will be missed at the back, and it isn't sure if the club has properly found like-for-like replacements for those two. Marlon arrived for the left side coming from lower division, but no one came to replace the leader of last season's defence (Messias). Playmaker Bruno Nazário was the big new signing for the season. He will try to fill in the shoes of talented Matheusinho, who left to join Israel football. 'Madman' Lisca is a highly reputed, skilled coach who has refused a few good contracts this season to stay with 'Coelho'. Lisca will mainly rely on the team that got promoted and he isn't one of playing defensively, even if they will be underdogs in almost every game. Rodolfo is the main man in attack, having been the top scorer of State Champioship this season. Ademir is the most gifted player, always capable of creating danger in any game, preferably coming from one of the wings.
