Finished 13th last season, in a considerably successful return to Série A. The team from Goiânia was able to hold a safe place quite early on the season and even book a ticket to Sul-Americana cup in 2021. Lost access to the finals of Goianense State Championships by losing on the penalty shootout against Grêmio Anapólis in the semi-final. Never a good thing to fail to reach the final in that competition. Only good thing was that they defeated their arch-rivals Goiás on the quarter-finals. Reliable veteran Fernando Miguel signed in from Vasco to replace the amazing Jean. Versatile Nathan Silva returned to the club and will be a useful addition, but will hardly live up as proper replacement for João Victor at the back. Chico, Rato and Vargas left without any obvious replacement arriving but, on the other hand, the club was smart enough to spot their weakness in attack last season and brought a few important new forwards: André Luís and Arthur Gomes among them. All in all, the team seems to lack depth and will be exposed to trouble if they aren't as fortunate to stay away from physical problems as they were last season. Janderson and Arthur Gomes are the men to keep an eye on in attack. Éder will be the undisputed leader in defence. Maranhão and Marlon Freitas barely have competition in midfield. Coach Jorginho will be given a fresh new opportunity after not having done very well last season with Coritiba.

Target

Avoid relegation and establishing their name as a Série A regular.
