America Mineiro will be one of the underdogs at the start of the new season in the Serie A. The outfit from Belo Horizonte entered a rollercoaster about two years ago. The Mineiro side dropped to the Serie B in 2016, but they only needed one year to make the switch to the top tier again, which is actually a more than decent achievement. Manager Enderson Moreira coached his team to the title and he will get the opportunity now to show his skills at the highest level, but his mission isn't an easy one to say the least. The club had to enter the market to bring their squad up to par for the start of the 2018 season, which resulted in a big group of new arrivals in Belo Horizonte. The budget wasn't a big one, and most players joined America FC on loan, which isn't the best position to be in. Enderson Moreiro will need time to form a core group, but he has already showed that he's capable of achieving things with this club. America's goal of the season is an easy one; preventing the drop back to the Serie B. This outfit only recorded five defeats in 38 matches last season and the confidence will be there with that in mind, and they should get a chance as well to avoid the bottom four. The first months of the season will be crucial. Experienced players like Wesley and Rafael Moura with Serie A experience have joined the team and their presence on the pitch will be a key factor as well.
