Except the big four, it is vital for the other teams to save its previous season’s performance. That is what Basaksehir have done in 2015/16 season. They have completed with 59 points in the 4th place once again. Most of the authorities agree that it is the natural outcome of coach Abdullah Avci’s mentality and the club’s policy. In fact, they were not happy with the season’s first-half performance but the second-half performance including only one defeat let them reach their goal. However, the coach admitted that it was unavoidable to finish in the third place considering that they have recorded many draws on the road. It is very important to keep Edin Visca in the team once again after the Bosnian winger was the best performer of the last season with seventeen goals and nine assists. Ahead of the new season, they did not face any regular’s departure. Looking at the arrivals, they have added pretty useful players. Former Fenerbahce player Samuel Holmen has spent a great season in Konya and he is expected to get an important role on the coach’s offensive plans. Besides him, Eren Albayrak, who has produced eight assists, should support the offence line although he is originally a left-back. In the long-term, teenager Cengiz Under a very hot prospect and he is expected to show his potential at the top level following his good performance in the first league. Considering that Emre Belozoglu has missed some fixtures because of his age and injuries, the coach did well by signing Joseph Attamah. The fans expect to see some good performances from young Ghanaian man in the busy schedule. As expected, the coach wanted to build a wide ranging squad considering that they are going to compete in three different campaigns and it is going to be a very hard season. The 3rd qualifiying round fixtures against the Croatian side Rijeka proved it. First of all, it is going to be a great job, if they can promote to the group stage. For the last two seasons, they have built a steady performance. They are expected to repeat it at least. Considering their experience and quality, they are not expected to face any pressure ensuring it. Visca may not be a superman. So the attackers Cikalleshi and Mehmet Batdal should support him as well as they have done in the last season.

Target

To finish within the top four places is their main target. They should welcome the excitement of the Turkish Cup and the Europa League group stage.
