When the last season was over, Kasimpasa were really sorry because they could have finished in a better place. In the second period of the season, they suffered many defeats. If they had won some of them, they could have earned a European Cups spot. The fans were thinking that their team were going to be more assertive but they were shocked with the decision of the board. Their official statement was telling that they were going to cut the club budget. Their plan was based on selling some important players, promoting some young players and building a modest team. That is what they have generally done during the summer. Eren Derdiyok, who was the top scorer of the last season with fourteen goals, was sold to Galatasaray. Besides him, Oscar Scarione, who has produced eleven goals in the last season, left to join Maccabi Tel Aviv. Winger Del Valle returned to Rio Ave after his loan period ended. It means that the top three offensive performers do not exist any more. Instead of Eren and Del Valle, Etoundi and Turgut Sahin were signed. Last season, the latter did not play a lot and the Cameroonese attacker has just scored three times in the Swiss League. There is also twenty year old Batuhan who arrived on loan from Hamburg. Scarione was not even replaced yet. It seems like the team will struggle scoring this season. Kenneth Omeruo was also tried to be replaced by Nigerian born Kenny Otigba. He has been playing regularly in the Dutch League but considering that Heerenveen has just recorded only three clean sheets in the league, his quality is a big question mark. He is expected to partner to Titi at centre-back but there is not other senior centre-back available. They did not face any defensive winger’s departure. So they should be ok there but the fans saw the departure of Isaksson to his country at the end. Now, there are Ramazan and Eray on the coach’s hand. Are they good enough? No, they are not... To summarize, the current squad quality of the team are absolutely weakened comparing to the last season. If the board cannot add some players as soon as possible, Kasimpasa are likely to face bad results this season.
