Last season gave lots of pains to the Yellow Canaries as they faced a shock exit from Europe by the minnows Vardar, lost the Turkish Cup final against Akhisar and finally let their eternal rivals Galatasaray clinch the title. For a while, the club president Aziz Yildirim has been criticized a lot. Last season’s failure made him lose most of his credit among the fans. Following the election, he lost the competition against Ali Koc and his 20-year presidency came to an end. No doubt that the fans are very hopeful about the future following the new president's arrival, but he is aware that the club’s financial situation will not let them add stars anytime soon, even if the new coach Philip Cocu want to see some new faces. The Dutch coach said that he will try to make his team offer an offensive style and have the ball possesion in general during the whole season as he has done with PSV Eindhoven in the last season. In order to do it, he will need offensive minded players. At this point, Giuliano, Dirar and Valbuena could have important roles in order to feed the offence zone. So far, they have failed to bring an attacker to establish some competition to Roberto Soldado after Fernandao was sold out and Janssen left the team following his loan period. So it seems like the offence line looks the thinnest part of the team for now. Young arrivals like Ferdi Kadioglu and Baris Alici are seen as hot prospects. In the future, the duo are expected to be regulars, but their performances are question marks in the current season. It is the same story for young keeper Berke Ozer who arrived from Altinordu. Despite Volkan and Kameni’s ages, he is not expected to have many chances in a few years. It is obvious that the new president and coach Cocu caused the fans to have some excitement, but there is no player who will push the fans in the pitch yet.
