It is no doubt that Yeni Malatya offered a great performance in their 1st year as the newly promoted side. Although their main goal was to survive in the Super League, they have managed to finish among the top ten. Although they did not do well with coach Ertugrul Saglam in the initial fixtures, their harmony with coach Erol Bulut, who was experiencing his first year as a head coach, was great. Especially, they turned into a tough nut to crack at home. Ahead of the new season, they have been facing a big problem. The coach has a very limited squad at the moment. After some players left the team during the summer, they could not sign enough players to complete their squad. That is why they will have to kick off the season with a thin squad as the coach confirmed. He also added that this problem was not because of their own transfer committee. According to him, they had to face this problem because of the players or their agents whom they contacted for a move. Last season, they were one of the low goal scoring teams in the league. Boutaib was the best performer of the team in the offence. The board managed to make him stay in the team following the World Cup. Former Besiktas man Omer Sismanoglu was added in order to compete with him. It is obvious that he did not spend a good period in the last season because of injuries. So, the fans are worried about him. It is a must to bring another attacker for them. In order to take the creative responsibility, Danijel Aleksic was signed in from St. Gallen. He did well in the Swiss League during the last season, but the Turkish Super League is a harder one. So, he may have to struggle to play here. The central midfield looks the strongest part of the team as Azubuike Okey and Murat Yildirim stayed in the team. Besides them, the board signed Ahmet Ildiz and Mitchell Donald.

Target

It is clear that they will have to struggle early on. The new arrivals’ adaptation process will affect the team’s future. To finish in the midtable should be a realistic goal for them.
