The capital city side managed to return to the top level after six years asr they finished the last season in the 2nd place with the support of their great fans. The board decided to keep on working with coach Ismail Kartal in this season. He has worked for Fenerbahce during 2014/15 season and lost the title race against Galatasaray. In fact, the last season did not start well for them as they could collect only two points in the initial four fixtures, but then they stormed the league, collecting 32 points in the next 12 fixtures. Even though they struggled on early fixtures of 2018, they managed to get the promotion ticket to the Super League. Ahead of the new season, they were very active in the summer transfer market as expected. They signed Mostapha El Kabir who has played in the Super Leauge for years. He was added to the team in order to fill the role of Umt Nayir who left to join Besiktas, but El Kabir has not been doing well in the recent years because of his weight problem. Besides him, there are Ilhan Parlak, Enes Kubat and Alper Onal. At the moment, their offence line is not reliable. On the net, the fans feel comfortable with the arrival of Johannes Hopf. Considering that they also have Korcan Celikay, they should not face any problem this season. They added Yalcin Ayhan and Tiago Pinto from the city rivals Osmanli following their relegation. The duo should do well with their experience. Bakary Kone also came from Malaga. Considering his CV, the former Lyon man is expected to be Yalcin's partner in the first eleven. They just have Erdem Ozgenc at right back. He is not at the level of the league. So they need to bring a quality winger as soon as possible. In the midfield, they signed Ricardo Faty from Bursa. The hardworking man is expected to do well as he knows the league. It is the same story for Thievy Bifouma who came from the league rivals Sivas. Regarding creating goal chances, Youness Mokhtar is expected to do so much. Last season, he offered a positive performance with Zwolle in the Dutch League.

At the moment, there are good players in the squad, but it is thin. So they need to bring a few players more considering the long season. If they do, they can manage to escape from relegation.
