Nowadays, Kayseri might have been busy with the European Cups Qualifiying round fixtures, but last season’s terrible 2nd half performance made it impossible. Because of that, the board made a coach change and Ertugrul Saglam was signed in. He has worked in Kayseri for two seasons between 2005 and 2007. With him, they have done a great in both seasons and reached the 5th place. He is also the only coach who has won the title with a team in the Super League except the big four. So the board did a very good job by signing him. Despite many offers, the board managed to keep Deniz Turuc in the team. Considering his last season performance, he will be one of the important players in the coach’s offensive plans. Following Ryan Mendes’ departure, they added Bilal Basacikoglu from Feyenoord. He did not spend a good season because of several reasons. So he may not be efficient as his backup. In the midfield, the board did a great job and added Bernard Mensah from Atletico Madrid on loan. He has offered a very good performance with Kasimpasa in the last season. So the coach knows him very well. The fans are sure that he will be a part of the first eleven. Tjaronn Chery was also signed in from a Chinese club. He was a first team material there. So the coach will decide on him following the preseason camp. It could be said that their defensive performance was pretty good until everything started to go badly. The whole defence line including keper Lung, center backs Kana Biyik & Sapunaru, wingers Atila Turan & Lopes stayed in the team. The board added Sakib Aytac to them in the summer transfer market. Along with him, they look well on the left, but they need to bring a backup for Lopes. Badji left the team after his loan period came to an end, but they filled his role greatly with Rajko Rotman. He has played in Kayseri for six months as a loanee during the 2016/17 season. So he familiar wth the team and the city.
