Football Season Review

№14: New England Revolution

New England's season was succesful at the end as they achieved to get to the playoffs but it was more succesful the acquisition of Carles Gil who was named the Newcomer of the Year for MLS. Carles Gil with 10 goals and 12 assists was clearly the key player for the Revs. In plus he was the player with the most assists on the road -8- than any other player in the league. Except Gil though the Revs hadn't many other things to impress. They were very poor in passing accuracy and possession of the ball with their numbers leading them to the penultimate position of the league. But their passing problems were a bit balanced by their increased aggression that led the team to decent performances at the end of the regular season especially after the hiring of Bruce Arena as head coach. Having Arena for a full season as a head coach is a factor that creates more pressure and expectations to the Revs. Qualifying to the playoffs will be the minimum for the franchise which will look to proceed at least till the Conference finals if possible.

Player of the Season: Carles Gil
