Football Season Review

№15: San Jose Earthquakes

The season started as a disaster and it ended in the same way. The Quakes got their first points after 4 consecutive defeats on March and they ended with 5 consecutive defeats within the last month of the regular season something that eliminated of course from playoffs. The Quakes were playing an incredibly dominating style of football with possession numbers of 56% in average and even more than 57% when they were playing at home. But the time were lacking efficiency except the veteran star Chris Wondolowski who was again the key player of the team. The Quakes were also very weak on the aerial duels as they were in the last place of this stat category by winning less than half of the aerial duels of this category -NYRB- Wondolowski ended the season by scoring 15 goals but there weren't enough to save his team and qualify to the playoffs. Heading to the 2020 season Wondolowski extended his contract in order to return to the playoffs with the Quakes next season

Player of the Season: Chris Wondolowski
