Bournemouth failed to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking last season. They managed to make the play-offs however, they were beaten in the semi-finals. Jonathan Woodgate was appointed as manager in February and ensured the club made the top six but the club decided not to renew his contract. Instead, ex-Fulham boss Scott Parker has been brought in. Few additions to the playing staff so far, expect more before transfer window closes, need to replace Begovic. Attack-minded midfielder Marcondes was a free agent after leaving Brentford. He was an important member of the Bees squad last season and was named man-of-the-match in the play-off final. Young defender Davis is highly regarded at Leeds and provides much-needed cover at left-back after Rico’s departure. Significantly for Bournemouth they have so far managed to hold onto most of their key players. Carter-Vickers has gone back to parent club Tottenham, he formed an excellent centre-back partnership with Steve Cook during the second half of last season. The Cherries have a squad full of quality and experience. Pacey winger Danjuma was the club’s standout attacking player last season, he started slowly but scored 11 times in the last 16 matches. The squad didn’t perform to its full potential last season, struggling to put together the run of results needed to challenge for automatic promotion.

Target

The club’s aim will be promotion. Parker has done it before (leading Fulham up through the play-offs), and they should be up there challenging.
