Hull bounced straight back up from League One last season. An excellent campaign for the Tigers culminated in them being crowned Champions. They have managed to hold onto most of their standout performers from last season with the only departure from the favoured starting XI being centre-back Burke. However, Alfie Jones did take Burke’s place for the latter part of last season and performed well alongside Jacob Greaves, so Burke’s loss is seemingly not a huge one. None of the players brought in are guaranteed starters and have mainly been signed to provide squad depth and hopefully challenge the established first names on the teamsheet. City were impressive going forward last season. Between them Mallik Wilks, Josh Magennis and Keane Lewis-Potter bagged over 50 goals. Boss Grant McCann got everything right last season but has yet to prove himself at this level after overseeing the club’s relegation from the Championship in 2019/20. McCann will be relying on the players that performed so well last season. Some have Championship experience, those that don’t are exciting youngsters who should relish the opportunity to play at a higher level. The Tigers showed an excellent team spirit and togetherness last season and this could prove crucial during this campaign.

Target

Survival will be the aim first and foremost. With the momentum from last season, a well-balanced squad and a dangerous looking forward line this should be achieved.
