Huddersfield performed as many expected last season, playing survival for much of the 2020/21 season. Many will make the case, however, that Carlos Corberan dealt with many injuries throughout the season with a squad which does not have much strength in depth. It would be fair to say the feeling amongst supporters is a bleak one, with the club having let go many players who featured last season and failing to provide enough depth as of the first week of August, meaning supporters and others are fearing the worst for Town. Huddersfield will be expected to perform better in front of goal in the upcoming season, with the clever addition of Jordan Rhodes providing much needed experience and quality in the centre-forward position and taking the heavy load off the shoulders of Fraizer Campbell. A further positive for Huddersfield is the fact they managed to keep hold of the core of starting players from last season. Carlos Corberan absolutely must overturn the fortunes of his defence in 2021/22, after his side put up the worst defensive record in the Championship last season, conceding a whopping 71 goals. The issue the Spaniard faces, is Town have let go 6 defenders and replaced with another 4, which already leaves him further shorthanded than last season when Huddersfield struggled for numbers.

Target

Survival. For a second consecutive season, survival should be at the forefront of Huddersfield supporters. An underwhelming transfer window leaves Town with another long season ahead.
