Brentford suffered heartbreak last season when they were beaten in the play-off final by Fulham. They were up there in terms of goalscoring and defensive stats all season and will really feel they should have been celebrating promotion. Thomas Frank will want his men to get that failure out of their minds quickly. So far, they have kept their stars, in particular their superb front three of Said Benrahma, Ollie Watkins and Bryan Mbeumo. However, a sale is still very likely before the end of the transfer window in October. Keeping hold of them could well be crucial to their hopes, yet they have brought in Ivan Toney from Peterborough which would appear to be a replacement for Watkins. Charlie Goode adds further defensive class after arriving from Northampton so the Bees should be strong in every department again. They will be among the favourites to go up and also have a new stadium in which to play their football. Home form has been so good over the last few years and it will be interesting to see if they can keep that up in unfamiliar surroundings.

Target

After last term there will just be one aim and that is to win promotion.
