Wycombe won an unexpected promotion to the Championship last term after going up via the play-offs, benefiting also from the points per game formula to decide the regular season. They are arguably the smallest club in the Championship and they know they face a tough task this season. They do however have the longest serving manager in the country in Gareth Ainsworth, until Harrogate were promoted, and the continuity should be a major plus. They are a side built on team spirit and a strong work ethic with the defence the strong aspect to the side. Last season's top scorer was Joe Jacobson who reached double figures from left back. They will need to do better in attack but have signed Uche Ikpeazu and Daryl Horgan and also brought in defenders Jason McCarthy, for a fourth time, and Ryan Tafazolli so should be well set. They will also need to improve their away record. They were good at Adams Park last term but disappointed on the road.

Target

Given the size of the club there will be just one aim and that will be to survive.
