Fulham can be very pleased with last season where they progressed to the play-offs. They lost to Reading in the semi-finals but it was clearly a season of success and they can now look towards a possible Premier League return. Slavisa Jokanovic has proven himself to be a terrific man-manager and he will look to push the club on this term. They have looked for stability, losing none of their first eleven in the sales, while Lucas Piazon and Tomas Kalas return on loan from Chelsea. Jokanovic has strengthened in defence with Marcelo Djalo arriving while midfielders Ibrahima Cisse and Oliver Norwood should fit well into the side. They may not have an out and out goalscorer so that is one weakness to the side. But they do have the exciting young talent Ryan Sessegnon who has opted to stay at Craven Cottage rather than move on to pastures new. His progress will be monitored closely and he is clearly a big player for the Cottagers this term. Tom Cairney is another important player and there were gasps in the summer as he picked up a knock in pre-season. His creativity in the middle of the park is very important. Fulham missed a catalogue of penalties last season and will want to finally get to grips with that area of their game. Chris Martin is back at Derby after Fulham failed in making the loan permanent. Fulham will really believe they can achieve something special this season, last term was arguably too early for promotion but there is a feeling that something is developing at Craven Cottage.

Target

Fulham will be disappointed if they do not make the play-offs and will be really aiming for a return to the Premier League.
