Hull were relegated from the Premier League last term but at least put in a good show in the second half of the campaign where they came close to survival. They had Marco Silva as their boss but he resigned at the end of the season to join Watford. The Tigers have moved to appoint a somewhat left field choice in Leonid Slutsky, a man with little knowledge of the English second tier. He has removed a series of experienced players, selling the old nucleus of the club. Hull have added a pair of Chelsea loanees Ola Aina and Michael Hector to help support the defence while Kevin Stewart is an eye-watering signing from Liverpool to bolster the midfield. Fraizer Campbell has also returned to the club after a less than impressive spell at Crystal Palace. Hull were excellent at home last season and with many away teams having far to travel will look to use that in their favour. In contrast though, their away form was abysmal with just one victory in the road all season, way back on the opening day of last season. They will be keen to break that duck away from home immediately to prevent it impacting upon morale. Abel Hernandez remains the big player up-front but there are doubts over his future. He had a poor season in front of goal last term with just five goals but will hope to return to his form two seasons ago where he helped Hull to promotion. That will surely be the aim again but you cannot be too confident about Hull's chances.

Target

They will want promotion, but in reality it is likely to be a little bit more difficult than that.
