Woives have completely changed around the way football clubs work with a bizarre ownership and transfer policy. That has allowed them to sign top talent but it is questionable whether the management actually want the players they are signing. This summer Paul Lambert left the club after clashing over this model and was replaced as manager by Nuno. They have now signed a series of mainly foreign players including Ruben Neves who has joined Wolves for a club record fee from Porto. There are a number of Portuguese players now in the squad and Wolves are keen to carry on spending. They have signed a couple of English players too in Ryan Bennett and John Ruddy but it may be difficult to keep a squad in perfect harmony this term. Given there is still a month to go in the transfer window, there is still a chance of further additions to come. Wolves have suffered some bad news over the summer with keeper Carl Ikeme diagnosed with leukaemia. Helder Costa, the player of the year last term, has remained at the club but he too will miss the season start due to injury. Wolves had a surprisingly poor home record last term and will look to turn Molineux back into a fortress again. Expectations are understandably high from an impatient ownership and all this adds up to a less than certain picture.

Target

Wolves' ownership will expect promotion, something that is unlikely to be realistic based on the factors they have in front of them.
