After only one year in Lega Pro Cittadella are immediately back in Serie B. Last season the Veneti dominated the Group A of Lega Pro winning the title three rounds in advance and with an advantage of eleven points on the seconds. The main architect of this perfect season was coach Roberto Venturato who usually opted for an attacking 4-3-3 system of play (Cittadella were the team who scored more goals of the league)...it will be interesting to see whether Venturato uses the same brave system even in Serie B or switch to the 4-3-1-2 already used in some games. The policy of the club this summer was to keep most of the players who won the title filling the gaps with some young players coming from Lega Pro teams or on loan from top flight sides. This seems the wisest policy rather than completely revolutionize the team, as indeed have taught in the recent past Frosinone and Carpi, creating a compact group of players, mainly unkown, have brought them even in Serie A. The good news is that they will be able to count again on former Ternana forward Litteri who last year was their top scorer with 15 goals. Cittadella's seasonal debut wasn't the best as they were defeated by Cremonese in the second round of Coppa Italia.

Target

As for all the newly promoted teams the only goal of Cittadella is to survive relegation...needless to say they are among the favorites to go back to Lega Pro also because of the inexperience of coach Venturato at this level.
