The past one was a season to remember for the Ligurians, even if they have missed by a hair's breadth qualifying for the playoffs ending in 9th position (only one point from the 8th place!), they went well above and beyond the most optimistic expectations. It must not be forgotten that, in addition to being only at their second participation to Serie B, the previous year they were relegated in Lega Pro and later readmitted following to the relegation of Catania for sporting fraud. Despite coach Alfredo Aglietti made an excellent job giving a clear identity to the squad always fielded with the 4-3-1-2 system of play, in June resigned and the club appointed Roberto Breda as new coach. Nothing much should change considering that former Ternana and Latina coach should rely on the same system. Moreover he will be able to rely on a group of players who know each other very well as the club didn't make many changes during the summer transfer market. The only relevant loss is the one of attacking midfielder Sestu who went back to Chievo. As for the arrivals Entella signed only some interesting unkown youngsters. Quite predictable the season beginning of the black devils who defeated Ancona in the second round of Coppa Italia and were clearly defeated by Chievo in the third one.

Target

Difficult to predict what will be the season of Virtus, they have a mid-table squad but have the great advantage of having already a well-oiled team...maybe also this year they could fight for a playoff spot.
