Football Season Guide

It will be another tough campaign for Galatasaray after they disappointed their fans over the course of last season. It is widely known that some of the fans were not happy with coach Igor Tudor. Their dissatisfaction reached its peak after they were eliminated from Europe by debutants Östersunds. Ahead of the new season, there is already some rumour about the coach’s potential replacements. Some fans are sure that Tudor will be unable to last until the end of the current campaign During the summer transfer market, the club were pretty active. Unfortunately, the fans will not be able to see Bruma, Wesley Sneijder and Lukas Podolski at Turk Telekom Stadium this season. Besides them, Semih Kaya, Cenk Gonen and Sabri Sarioglu left the squad too. Bafetimbi Gomis was signed to replace Podolski but his performances so far have caused everybody to be doubtful if he can fill the German's boots. Besides him, there is Eren Derdiyok who also failed to impress the fans last season whilst Younès Belhanda is expected to fill the role of Sneijder but the supporters remain unconvinced about him too. Maicon was added into the defensive line but it seems like the club need to bring in another centre-back considering Ahmet Calik’s costly error against Östersunds. Following the arrival of Mariano, it seems like they are safe at the right back. Lionel Carole did not perform well in both meetings against the Swedish side so it would be better to get a left-footed winger. However, it was a great move to get Badou Ndiaye who can fight in the midfield and also support the offence. It seems like Fernando Muslera will be a legend for the Lions as his contract was extended until 2021. It is known that the board are still looking for some new faces in order to build a wide ranging squad. If they manage to bring them in and the coach could make the whole team find their rhythm together, Gala can be successful. If not, they will have to face the wrath of their fans all season.
